A guided session for blushing, sweating and nerves that show. The tell was never the problem. Being embarrassed about the tell is the problem. Stop minding it, and it mostly stops.
Let me talk to you about the moment your body gives you away.
You know the one. You're talking and your voice shakes. Your hands sweat. You lose the word you were about to say. Your face gets hot. And the thought that comes right behind it is worse than the thing itself: "they can see it."
Here's the truth about that. The tell is natural. It's the body being honest about a moment that matters. Everybody's body does something. The problem isn't the tell. The problem is being embarrassed about the tell. That's the loop. You feel it, you mind that you feel it, minding it makes it stronger, and now you're managing the tell instead of being in the conversation. Some people shrink their whole lives around that loop. They stop raising their hand. Stop walking up. Stop saying the thing.
And the way out is almost too simple. It's not "I must never let it show." That's the way in. The way out is "so what if it shows." The one who doesn't mind that their voice shook is the one whose voice stops shaking, because he's not watching it anymore. He's watching the person in front of him. The body takes its cue from that. When you stop minding, the face cools on its own, the hands dry on their own, the words come back on their own.
So this session does two things. It gets you so used to the moment that it loses its charge. And it gives you the "so what." Once you have that, you've got the cool.
The sessions are becoming a book, Be Clear: every talk and every script, so you can read them at your own pace or record them in your own voice. Leave your email and the first chapter comes to you now, and a note when the book is out. Nothing else, ever.
